Tightly-coupled navigation systems such as the Embedded GPS/INS (EGI) integrate dual sensor solutions complicating troubleshooting. A lack of field support equipment makes software upgrades challenging. Some Operational Flight Program (OFP) loaders require the removal of the EGI from the aircraft.
