CAST Navigation announces newest and smallest fully capable simulator
March 22, 2012
CAST Navigation, LLC of Tewksbury, Massachusetts today introduced the CAST-SGX GPS Satellite Simulator. With its compact size 7in(H) x 11in(W) x 3in(D) and weighing
in at just over 4 pounds, the SGX is CAST’s newest and smallest fully capable simulator to date. The new SGX replaces the CAST-SIMCOM Simulator which was a 17 inch, 50
pound simulator. The SGX lightweight portability operates on AC or battery power, features
16 channels of L1 C/A and P codes and is extremely accurate and repeatable.
Features include touch screen, individual satellite power control and start and stop
scenarios with a touch of a button. The CAST-SGX is portable, affordable, lightweight
and utilizes CAST long standing proven technology.
CAST has been in the GPS simulation and support business for over 25 years and
has become a world leader in the design, development, manufacturing, and
integration of globally innovative GPS/INS Simulators and associated equipment
for government, military, prime vendor, and consumer markets.
CAST Enters Commercial Simulator Market
September 2007
CAST GPS simulators that are being used in government and military labs around the world will now be made available to commercial markets. The announcement for CAST’s new line of simulators was made at the ION GNSS conference in Fort Worth, TX.
The CAST-SIMCOM line of GPS simulators will share the same quality and flexibility as CAST’s more capable systems since they are based on the same digital architecture enabling full control of the GPS signal spectrum.
The simulators are capable of producing modernized GPS civilian signals such as L2C, L5-I, L5-Q, SBAS and M-noise as well as the recently published civilian signals, L1C-I and L1C-Q.
“CAST-SIMCOM systems may be used for testing a broad range of applications such as GPS integrated with cell phones, automobiles, ships, commercial aviation and spacecraft, surveying and agricultural tools, golf equipment and more,” said Ray Simeon, President of CAST Navigation.
The CAST-SIMCOM simulator is a self-contained, portable system that can be controlled via Ethernet from a Windows PC. It utilizes CAST Windows interface software for remotely controlling simulations.

New EGI Maintenance Solution at Tinker
August 24, 2003
CAST Navigation announced a new line of solutions that will enable Tinker Air Force Base to diagnose their Embedded GPS/INS rapidly. With EGI Maintenance Tools (EMT), the E-3 program has the ability to easily troubleshoot navigation equipment without removing the EGI from the aircraft.
Never before has it been possible for them to minimize RTOK (Re-Test 'OK'). By returning fewer EGI's that are actually performing correctly, they will save large costs. Also they can substantially reduce their integration time by quickly diagnosing their problems. They now can provide life-cycle support for their navigation equipment.

CAST Addresses EGI - JDAM Integration for F-16
January 18, 2003
CAST demonstrated the capability to perform dynamic ground testing of GPS/INS guided munitions including Joint Direct Attack Munition (JDAM). The CAST system provides coordinated GPS and Inertial data to the weapon's navigation systems simultaneously with the launch platform's navigation system. JDAM testing is done at Hill AFB with two of their simulators.
Each weapon or avionics OFP version change requires a retest of the JDAM relevant software pre-flight test. It is repetitively used now and at least one serious JDAM problem was discovered and fixed through use of the simulator however the details are classified.
